Please give more details of new technical application area:
Recently, continuous online monitoring of breath has gained lot of attention as breath pattern of an individual throws many information on his or her health conditions. However, to record fast breathing response of an individual, one needs to have a sensor with very fast response and re covery times. At present, such devices are hardly available. In this direction, we have fabricated ultrafas thumidity sensor (response and recovery times 10 ms)and successfully integrated into a stand alone pen-drive size device which can efficiently sense breathing pattern of an individual. The device can be used by connecting to a computer or a smart-phone.Real-time monitoring of breath can bed one by this device by connecting it into a computer and using open-source software. The device can be used to measure the hydration level of a person or any other object by simply keeping finger or object on the device and the hydration level will flash on the mobile screen.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
