2MVAR STATCOM proto unit was developed and field trial was successfully completed at IT park,Trivandrum with TRL 9 100kVAR DSTATCOM technology was successfully developed and field trial was done at 250KVA distribution transformer of KSEB with TRL 8 STATCOM for LVRT technology was successfully tested at WEG,Nagercoil with TRL 8 500kVAR STATCOM was successfully developed and tested for High Performance computing facilities and systems with TRL of 8

Applications: DSTATCOM for Power quality improvement near distribution transformer STATCOM technology for Power quality improvement in IT parks STATCOM technology for LVRT in wind electric generators STATCOM technology for domestic applications STATCOM for electric railway applications
Advantages: DSTATCOM for Power quality improvement near distribution transformer The technology was realised using SiC based switching device and high order LCL filter which significantly improves the power density of the system. STATCOM technology is the most viable solution for dynamic compensation of reactive power,harmonic current,unbalance and netral current Improved power quality reduces losses, resulting in reduced energy expenses, improved machine performance, reliability, and longer life expectancy of equipment of the electric network

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
