Please give more details of new technical application area:
Electrochemical studies including cyclic voltammetry, square wave voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry have been considered as a significant technique to understand chemical reactions involving alteration of electric charge. However, these studies are commonly affected by the presence of air or moisture, particularly for air or moisture-sensitive materials or complexes. We have set up the system to use our potentiostat for electrochemical measurements inside the glovebox. We have connected potentiostat with an electrochemical cell located inside the glovebox using a cable through banana connector.

    Abstract:

Applications: 1.Electrochemistry studies inside glovebox will improve to realize electron transfer processes that are at the center of the reactivity of inorganic complexes, precisely for air and moisture sensitive materials. 2.This will allow us to study the electrochemical behavior of the highly air-sensitive radical complexes which have been considered as potential multifunctional materials. 3. This will allow exploring the electron transfer reactions underpinning renewable energy technologies and fundamental mechanistic inorganic chemistry.
Advantages: 1.Electrochemical studies outside the glovebox affected by the electrochemical behavior of oxygen and moister, which can be overcome using the same inside glovebox under an inert atmosphere. 2.Electrochemical behavior of high air and moisture sensitive materials including complex containing radical can effectively be characterized.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
