    Abstract:

Applications: This product will act as a dietary supplement and can be consumed by people for maintaining their gut healthy as it contains both the prebiotic and probiotic These can be used along with antibiotics to maintain healthy bowel conditions On the other hand the synbiotic product improves the levels of healthy gut bacteria improves liver capacity in cirrhotic patients improves of immunomodulation capacity forestalls bacterial translocation and decreases frequencies of nosocomial contaminations in careful patients and so forth Also the encapsulation material that contains chitosan and alginate help in reducing obesity high cholesterol and Crohn disease It is also used to treat complications that kidney failure patients on dialysis often face including high cholesterol anaemia loss of strength and appetite and insomnia Further the encapsulation process enhanced the viability of the probiotics and also prebiotics in harsh gastric environments of stomach probiotics benefits
Advantages: As a good source of crude fibers pomegranate fruit peels can be utilized as functional food or prebiotic as they help in decreasing serum LDL Cholesterol level improving glucose tolerance and the insulin response reducing hyperlipidemia and hypertension contributing to gastrointestinal health and the prevention of certain cancers such as colon cancer As per the literature only few studies are available on the prebiotics extracted from pomegranate peels Further the encapsulation process enhanced the viability of the probiotics and also prebiotics in harsh gastric environments of stomach As the encapsulated products are rarely available this product will be more beneficial

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
