    Abstract:

Applications: 1. An adaptive minimum quantity lubricant (MQL) system is provided 2. MQL system is simple and cost effective. 3. Helps in intermittent usage of the lubricant or cutting fluid and reduces unnecessary use of the lubricant, thereby reducing cost of lubrication
Advantages: 1.The present invention also provides the process for monitoring and controlling temperature during a machining operation. 2.The process provided by the present invention is simple and cost-effective. 3.The system includes a thermocouple that is mechanically coupled to a cutting tool of a milling machine and configured to detect temperature during the machining operation. 4.The technique utilizes very small amount of lubricant and outperforms flooded lubrication technique in which a huge amount of fluid is wasted. 5.Reduction in the consumption of hazardous cutting fluids is the need of this contemporary era as these are harmful for the whole ecosystem. 6.During machining, material is being removed primarily due to plastic deformation which is the primary source of heat generation.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
