    Abstract:

Applications: 1.Variable temperature UV-Vis spectra are useful for the quantitative analysis of inorganic complexes containing different transition metal ions. 2.Different types of absorption bands present in a system can be identified by UV-Vis spectral analysis. Absorption bands at different temperatures give an idea about the nature of charge transfer whether it is temperature-dependent or not. 3.This technology has enabled us to understand the temperature dependence of metal to metal charge transfer phenomenon which will help in fine-tuning of the systems. Such systems will help in the application of miniaturization of storage devices.
Advantages: 1.UV-Vis spectra at room temperature give an idea of the charge transfer bands present in a complex. Whereas spectra at variable temperatures will give us a preliminary idea of any oxidation state change in the metal centers present in the system under study. This will help us to know the behavior of the system at different temperatures such as bistabiliy and cooperativity. 2.Changes observed in different temperatures will help us to design devices for application in storage, quantum computing, sensing, and molecular spintronics, etc.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
