    Abstract:

Applications: The major problem associated with chronic wounds is excessive delay in healing. There are different factors which are required to be transported to the healing region for the body to conduct regular healing procedures. This technology relates to a novel wound healing formulation and dressing comprising natural polymeric biomaterials for the local delivery of an MMP-9 suppressor and growth factors to reduce infection and inflammation while assisting the healing process by maintaining the required growth factor concentration and increasing angiogenesis by prolonged expression of VEGF-A at the wound bed. Application: - Local delivery of an MMP-9 suppressor -Local delivery of a Growth factors -Local delivery of an antimicrobial agent
Advantages: There is need in a art for an improved wound dressing which not only limits the infection progression but also augments the wound healing process. The novel Technology has following advantages 1) Delivers antimicrobial agent and MMP-9 suppressant along with growth factor PDGF-B in the wound bed. 2) Provides early wound closure. 3) Facilitates the regulation of serum distribution of overexpressed proinflammatory cytokines of chronic wounds to requisite levels. 4) Promotes quick and early healing.
