Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel catalyst used for fuel cells and metal-air batteries and the effect of semi-labile multidentate ligands on oxygen reduction reaction performance of non-precious metal catalysts. Non precious metal catalyst reported here are, metal-nitrogen-carbon type, wherein metal could be iron (Fe), Cobalt (Co), Manganese (Mn), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr) or Copper (Cu).

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
