Abstract:
With the emergence of E mobility across the globe, the requirement of Lithium Ion battery will be on the rise. For the manufacture of Li Ion battery the main ingredient will be Lithium metal ( in the form of its oxide or carbonate). Due to this the availability of Lithium metal for manufacture of Lithium Hydroxide ( either as mined Lithium hydroxide or through conversion process) will be scarce as well as the cost of Lithium Hydroxide is expected to go up. This will put the grease manufacturers to look for alternative routes for manufacturing grease with the use of reduced amount of Lithium Hydroxide, while giving it almost similar properties as Lithium soap based greases. This patented process describes once such novel route for manufacture of Calcium - Lithium soap based Grease with reduced use of Lithium Hydroxide in its formulation.
