Abstract:
Steel and many metal processing industries use high temperature Greases for lubricating many machinery operating at high temperature, radiation prone zones. There has been instances of fire hazards reported from many such industries where the conventional Lithium, Lithium Complex and Sulphonate Complex greases are used for lubrication. It has become the responsibility of such user industries to look for lubricating greases which can greatly suppress and remove the fire hazards for use in the machinery working in high temperature and radiation zones. This patented process envisages manufacture of high temperature Calcium Sulphonate Complex Grease using selected additive systems to self-extinguish the fire in case the lubricant ( grease) catches fire during the operation or maintenance practice of equipment in Steel and heavy metal processing industries..
