Abstract:
In the present work, molybdenum trioxide (MoO3) films were deposited at a substrate temperature (TS) of 250 °C on glass substrate by spraying the precursor solution of ammonium heptamolybate tetrahydrate and distilled water using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. XRD and Raman analysis confirms the presence of hexagonal and orthorhombic phases of MoO3. The AFM images show the formation of spherical grains with average size of 0.9 µm. The photoluminescence spectrum of the film shows two emission peaks around 404 and 516 nm. The former one is correlated to band-to-band transition while later one is assigned to defects. The photocatalytic activity of the MoO3 film was studied using Rhodamine-B organic dye under Halogen lamp illumination. The effect of different dye concentrations on photocatalytic performance was also determined.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
