Please describe in detail including the TRL Level:
The technology has been developed and validated for the diagnosis of Complex Vertebral Malformation (CVM) in breeding bulls in the Institute laboratory and being used for diagnosis of CVM in young bulls of bull rearing unit of the institute. The samples received from outside of the institutes are also being diagnosed for the same disease using this technology. The technology is at the level of TRL- 5. Recently the technology has been submitted to the Agrinnovate India Limited in search of potential buyer

    Abstract:

Applications: The CIRC-Cattle CVM assay is applicable for early detection of CVM carrier animals. The assay may prove to be an effective tool for selecting CVM free animals especially young bulls at their early stage of life.
Advantages: CIRC-Cattle CVM assay This assay will be useful for the semen collection, germplasm centers, research institutions, State Animal Husbandry Departments and NGO involved in semen collection and processing of cattle and buffaloes. NOVEL FEATURES Rapidity -as the test can be completed in 2 to 2 and half hours User friendliness - as it is easy to perform and a one step process Economical - because it does not need expensive reagents (such as real time PCR machine, restriction enzyme, reagents for PAGE, Staining solution etc.)

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
