    Abstract:

Applications: ThIS invention performs robotic assisted movement of wrist and finger joint triggered by muscular effort by patient affected by neuro-muscular disorders such as stroke, cerebral palsy, brain injury etc. It also gives a feedback to patient on the amount of effort and improvement in muscular strength. This device is designed for increasing their quality of life. The robotic exoskeleton device helps patient exercise for flexion and extension of wrist and fingers. The device is meant to provide robotic assisted rehabilitation of wrist and finger movements.
Advantages: This device has unique advantages, it can be easily mounted and removed by patient himself or caregiver, is low cost, light-weight and portable. Prototype has been developed and tried on 14 patients.
