It can be used in any of the remote monitoring, sensing and actuation appllications including the below: 1) Energy Monitoring 2) Power Factor Monitoring 3) Smart home/ Green buildings 4) Harmonic Distortion Monitoring 5) Predictive Maintainance"
Advantages: "Many of the existing energy metering solutions in India are costly. Also, they are offer limited customizations. However, the device developed includes the following features: 1) The User Interface is fully customizable 2) Event detection and alerts on mobile of customer 3) Remote monitoring of measured parameters over Internet 4) Cloud based storage and data analytics 5) WiFi enabled for easy communication"

Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
