Abstract:
A vibro-tactile feedback system that comprises a GRIP FORCE SENSOR, that may be a Force Sensing Resistor or Dielectric Elastomer or any other resistive or capacitive sensors that receives input from an object in contact; a feedback actuator to output the signal; a feedback actuator driver: a microcontroller to generate an output signal to the said feedback actuator driver; a controi board to connect the various apparatus; a battery to power the device; a fastening means to affix the device to the user; wherein the GRIP FORCE SENSOR detects atleast the touch sensed is communicated to the microcontroller, a vibration in a pattern is generated depending on the signal received from the said microcontroller; where the system is configured to mimic the real-like human touch similar to a degrading sinusoid wave; but not limited to it; as the primary model, while the secondary model can be modelled as a trigonometric wave or any other wave as illustrated in figure 4.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
