Description : X-ray source XPS (X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy) can determine the elemental composition, empirical formula, chemical state, and electronic state of the elements within a material. XPS spectra are obtained by irradiating a solid surface with a beam of X-rays while simultaneously measuring the kinetic energy of electrons that are emitted from the top 1–10 nm of the material being analysed. The instrument is integrated with Ion Scattering Spectroscopy (ISS), UV photoelectron Spectroscopy (UPS), reflected energy loss spectroscopy (REELS) Source: Monochromatic X-ray source: Al K? – 1486.6 eV Types of sample: Solid (powder/thin film) /Liquid Requirement of Sample: Powder: -minimum10mg, pellet-10mm, thinfilm-1cm/1cm,liquid-2ml(by drop cast method)

Usage Rate: (as indicated by the custodian/host institution)
