While I-STEM enables the discovery of scientific infrastructure across India, REACH extends this capability through a curated framework designed for facilities committed to assured access, operational transparency, near real-time availability, standardized access practices, defined service standards, and collaborative engagement.
By bringing together institutions that embrace these principles, REACH creates a trusted ecosystem that strengthens institutional partnerships, improves infrastructure utilization, and enables more reliable access to scientific facilities across India's research and innovation ecosystem.
Scientific infrastructure today faces two parallel challenges.
On one hand, facilities often contend with underutilized high-value equipment, fragmented operations, manual booking processes, and idle capacity that limit the full potential of national research infrastructure.
On the other, researchers, startups, MSMEs, and industries often struggle to identify facilities offering predictable availability, transparent pricing, dependable service standards, and efficient access mechanisms.
REACH creates value across the research ecosystem by strengthening the relationship between infrastructure providers and infrastructure users.
REACH supports participating organizations through three complementary dimensions.
Organizations committed to enabling collaborative research are invited to participate in REACH.
Organizations interested in joining REACH are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The EOI provides an overview of the initiative, participation framework, eligibility criteria, value proposition, and onboarding process.
Following a review of the submission, the REACH team will engage with eligible organizations regarding the next steps for participation.
The Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) is a national initiative under the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
I-STEM connects researchers, academia, industries, startups, and institutions with scientific infrastructure across the country, enabling greater collaboration and more effective utilization of national research resources while accelerating research, innovation, and technology development.
As a strategic initiative within the I-STEM ecosystem, REACH advances this vision by establishing a curated network of high-quality scientific facilities committed to assured access, operational transparency, standardized service delivery, and collaborative scientific progress.
Join REACH and become part of a curated national network committed to enabling assured access, greater infrastructure utilization, stronger institutional collaboration, and accelerated research and innovation.
