Enabling Trusted Access to India's Advanced Scientific Infrastructure
India's scientific infrastructure is among its greatest research assets. Yet, much of this capability remains distributed across institutions, making reliable and efficient access a persistent challenge.
REACH is a strategic initiative under I-STEM that brings together research parks, technology parks, testing laboratories, corporate R&D centres, incubators, Centres of Excellence, shared research facilities and other organizations managing advanced scientific infrastructure into a collaborative national ecosystem.
By connecting infrastructure providers and users, REACH enables organizations to manage scientific infrastructure more efficiently, improve utilization, strengthen partnerships and expand access to India's research capabilities.
I-STEM enables the discovery and access of scientific infrastructure across India. REACH extends this ecosystem to organizations that manage scientific infrastructure at scale, providing a structured framework to manage operations, collaborate with external partners and participate in a connected national ecosystem.
REACH enables participating organizations to function as both providers and consumers of scientific infrastructure - making their capabilities available to others while accessing specialized infrastructure across the wider ecosystem.

I-STEM connects researchers, institutions and industries with advanced scientific infrastructure across the country and has evolved into a broader digital ecosystem supporting infrastructure sharing, equipment booking, operator management, software access and collaborative research.

The Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) is an interactive web portal designed to accelerate scientific progress in India. This initiative, conceived and supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, creates a centralized platform for sharing publicly funded R&D equipment and facilities across various institutions throughout the country.
