Description : The machine consists of an engine and a dynamometer system. The engine has two cylinders including one power cylinder and one optical cylinder. It has a bore of 87.5 mm and a stroke of 110 mm with each cylinder having a cubic capacity of 661 cc. The spark timing valve timing and injection timing are variable. The fuel system is based on CRDI and it uses diesel as fuel with water cooling provided. The operating speed ranges from 800 to 1000 rpm and it delivers a power output of about 2 to 2.5 hp. The engine is started using a three phase AC induction motor and it uses forced lubrication. The dynamometer is of eddy current type with load measurement done using a strain gauge. It has a maximum speed of 1500 rpm and a power capacity of 5 hp with direct coupling arrangement.
