Description : The setup consists of an engine dynamometer exhaust gas calorimeter and air box system. The engine is a Legion Brothers multi fuel VCR type with water cooling and a swept volume of 553 cc. It operates on diesel petrol and LPG gas with a speed range of 1450 to 1550 rpm and produces about 5 hp. The maximum load capacity is 10 kgs and the engine can be started using an AC induction motor or manual crank start while lubrication is of forced type. The dynamometer is an eddy current power mag type with load measurement using a strain gauge and a maximum speed of 3000 rpm. It has a power capacity of 5 hp with direct coupling and uses manual loading. The exhaust gas calorimeter is of shell and tube type and uses K type thermocouples with water cooling. The air box provided is cubical in shape and is made of mild steel.
