Invitation to STEM Institutions

Join the I-STEM Software Resource Listing Initiative

India is building its first-ever National Software Access Portal — a connected, institution-driven directory that enables researchers to discover and access software tools hosted across academic and research institutions.

As part of this national movement, we invite your institution to list the software resources you own and help strengthen India’s research ecosystem.

Submit your institution’s software details using the official I-STEM form.

Why This Matters

I-STEM has already identified 1,000+ software titles and lakhs of licenses across India — many under-utilized due to lack of visibility.

Contributing your software data helps your institution:

  • Reduce duplication in software procurement
  • Increase visibility of hidden resources
  • Enable inter-institutional research access
  • Strengthen academic–industry collaboration
  • Support a shared national research infrastructure

What We Need From Your Institution

Please share details of software your institution owns, including:

  • Commercial, open-source, academic & research-licensed software
  • Number of available licenses
  • Access/usage rules for external researchers
  • Institutional coordinator contact details

Who Can Participate

  • Universities
  • Research labs
  • Higher education institutions
  • Public & private R&D centres
  • Government-funded institutions

If your organisation uses software for teaching, research, or innovation, this initiative is for you.
